Omega-3 Fish Oil - The Truth

There has been a big buzz about omega-3 and fish oil supplements in recent years. In fact, these have become the biggest selling supplements around. This is not surprising since we do need omega-3 to maintain our health.

Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid, which means that we need it but the body is not able to produce it. This means that we should include it in our diet on a daily basis. It is essential for the healthy functioning of several of our bodies systems including the brain and nervous system.

Omega-3 is definitely a good thing but are all the claims being made for it true? I am a daily user of a fish oil supplement myself and believe in the benefits of doing this. But some people go a lot further than saying it is good for general health.

A lot of claims are being made about what fish oil supplements can do for specific medical conditions. Now some of these are true and some may have some validity. But you can't believe everything you read.

Some manufacturers and people who promote these products like to use small quotes from scientific trials that have been carried out, that support their case for the benefits of fish oil. But they don't tell the whole story.

They don't tell you about the validity of some of the trials being called into question, or about others that have contradictory findings. They only tell you what they want you to know.

I am a committed user of omega-3 supplements but I like to have a balanced view of what they can really do. If you want the whole story on omega 3 and whether to use supplements, you should visit Omega 3 Buyer. Everything you need to know about fish oil and honest reviews of what is out there.

My daily fish oil supplement is from Xtendlife.
